Welcome to Woodstock, Georgia
Home of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church
If you are new to the area, let us give you a little tour of Old Towne Woodstock. Woodstock was incorporated more than 100 years ago, but in the last five years Old Towne Woodstock has been revitalized and had a face lift. Old Towne Woodstock is located approximately 2 miles from the intersection of Highway 92 and Highway 5 or 1 miles from Exit 8 off of I-575.
The train still comes through downtown at least twice a day and the old Train Depot is now a restaurant. Across from the depot a city park was built which features a large gazebo and fountain. The park hosts several community events including a Fourth of July celebration and free concerts in the summer.
A large condo complex was recently built behind the depot with shops on the ground level, including antique and gifts shops, coffee and yogurt shops. Across the street are more shops and restaurants including a cup cake and ice cream shop. Old Towne Woodstock is a great place to have a picnic, spend some time browsing the shops and just relaxing in the park.
St. Michael's Church is located 3 miles from downtown Woodstock. Cross the railroad tracks by the park and continue down Arnold Mill Road. The Church and Rectory are on the right and sit on 35 acres of wooded land. If you are traveling from Roswell on Highway 92, turn right at the intersection of Highway 92 and Trickum Road. Continue down Trickum road for 2 1/4 miles and the Church will be on your left.
