Lectors play an integral part in the celebration of the Holy Mass by proclaiming the Word of God in the First and Second Readings, the Announcements, the Responsorial Psalm (when choir or cantor not present), the Prayer of the Faithful (when a Deacon is not present). You must be Confirmed, a practicing Catholic and in good standing to be a Lector.
Certification via a parish training program is required. Training sessions are held periodically during the year. Please check the parish bulletin for training dates or contact: After training you may Lector at any of the Masses at St. Michael's.
