HOMESCHOOLING FAITH FORMATION IN 2020-21
Families must be registered members of St. Michael's.
Homeschool is discouraged for First Holy Communion Year 2 and for Confirmation Prep.
Homeschool for First Holy Communion (usually second grade) and Confirmation Prep (both 9th and 10th years) needs to be approved by the Director of Religious Education.
Please call the Director of Religious Education to discuss your situation, potential curriculum, etc. If approved.

We recommend the Faith & Life curriculum by Ignatius Press that PSR uses. Ignatius Press provides the curriculum in several ways.
1. Traditional: Faith & Life Catechist Manual, Student Reading book and a Student Activity Book: see the information under "Documents" on the bottom left for a list of books needed to home school Faith and Life. Other information go to: https://www.ignatius.com/promotions/faithandlife/index.htm
Parents prepare for the lesson by reviewing the Catechist Manual. Parents then sit down with their child and read the Chapter, teach the subject matter and the child completes the activity pages.
2. Digital: Parents subscribe to Ignatius Press' My Catholic Faith Delivered platform. Parents review the lesson and with the child use the digital and interactive resources. For more information go to this website: https://www.ignatius.com/promotions/faithandlife/mcfd.htm
In early September we will send out an email with calendar, reporting procedure, required activities, etc. for grades 1 and 2.
Our in-house classes begin September 13 and we gear our programs around that date this year.
This is for those children in grades 3 through 8 that have received their First Holy Communion.
1. Complete FLOCKNOTE sign-up below. This is our new communication platform for emails and texts. Both parents should sign up below to receive First Holy Communion notifications and emails.
2. Complete the Home School registration form below.
3. Refer to the above two choices and purchase the curriculum.
4. Use the Homeschool Record Form found on the bottom of the left-side menu to keep track of your child's progress.
5. We will email you with further requirements that include schedule, prayers to learn, liturgical activities, and helpful resources. For Grade 2 there will also be two tests, one on Reconciliation and the other on the Eucharist. Full requirements will be emailed.
