The crucifix from the chapel is brought into the main church via procession: "Behold the cross on which hung our Savior." The cross is placed at the foot of the altar steps while the congregation approaches it pew by pew; each individual kisses the cross in veneration and returns to their seat. When all have venerated the cross, the priest goes to the chapel, removes the consecrated hosts from the tabernacle and brings them back to the main church; this if followed by a communion service.
