ONLINE PSR REGISTRATION FOR 2020-2021
Registration ended on September 1, 2020
We hope to see you next year. Registration for the 2021-22 year will begin in May, 2021
The Archdiocese of Atlanta has stated, "Parishes should generally follow the schedule of the public schools in their area regarding in-person class or formation gatherings this fall."
At this time we are still waiting for Cherokee County Schools to publish their plans.
Once we have their plans we'll be able to provide our families with our parish plans.
For now, we are planning on our regular class sessions to begin after Labor Day.
We decided to postpone registration to prevent our families being confused if changes needed to be made due to Cherokee County's guidelines.
We appreciate your understanding in these slightly uncertain times.
We will email all St. Michael's families when we have solidified our class options.
We pray all our families stay safe and healthy! God bless!

Faith Formation/Religious Education classes are available
for children ages 4 through 17.
We encourage and welcome children to attend yearly classes throughout their elementary, middle school and high school years. Doing so provides our young people with a better foundation in the Catholic faith and more opportunities to encounter Jesus Christ and form a deeper personal relationship with Our Lord and Savior.
Children/Teens who have been Baptized
All Sacramental preparation programs require two years of instruction.
Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
Preparation usually occurs in the 1st and 2nd Grade. Children should be 6 years old and in first grade to enter the first year of preparation. Preparations for the Sacraments of First Eucharist and First Reconciliation require guiding your child in the practice of the faith. This includes Sunday Mass attendance as well as enrollment and attendance in our Faith Formation and Sacramental preparation sessions.
Per the Archdiocese of Atlanta, children should receive one year of instruction prior to entering the year of instruction for the Sacraments. Generally, children are prepared for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist in the second grade, as long as they completed the first grade in Faith Formation. If the child is in 2nd grade and has not received First Communion, they will be placed in our 1st grade and then the following year in the 2nd grade.
Sacramental Prep:
Children, 3rd through 8th grade, who have been Baptized but who have not received formal instruction in the Catholic faith and have a desire to receive the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Reconciliation, please contact the Religious Education office to discuss your family faith formation options. Sacramental preparation programs require two years of instruction. Generally you will enroll your child in their current grade level for their first year with us, and then the following year they will attend the special Sacramental Prep Year 2 class. Please conact the Religious Education office for clarification and more information.
Confirmation Prep:
Preparation usually occurs in the 9th and 10th grades. Teens should be at least 14 years old and in 9th grade to register for Year 1 of Confirmation Prep. Two years of preparation, usually 9th and 10th grade, are required in order to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Usually the Sacrament is received in the 10th grade, as long as they participated in Faith Formation the previous year. All students must register for each year. If your teen is in the 10th grade please register them for Confirmation Prep Year 1 and then Year 2 the following year. For more information please contact the Religious Education office.
Catholic School or Home School: First Holy Communion and Confirmation: If your student is in a Catholic school or is home schooled, their requirement is participation in events and retreats outside the classroom during both years. All students must register for each year. Parents need to attend the parent sessions both years. CLICK HERE for registration.
