Home Visitors
The purpose of the home visit is to fulfill the two great commandments: love God, and love your neighbor. The home visitor volunteers seek out God's needy, both materially and spiritually, and help where they can. No need is too great or too small. Although the volunteer is there to help in a material way, the aim of the Vincentian ministry is the development of relationships between individuals and god through the person of Jesus Christ. The Vincentians make Christ's healing presence felt through their presence to those who are needy or suffering.
The Vincentian home visitors go out to the client and see the pain and suffering. They are there ready to listen to their needs and are open to understanding. When they leave, they take away with them some of the hurt and despair. They return with an offer of help and hope. Daring to go out to our neighbors in need Vincentians are open to being changed in ways they can never anticipate, and in so doing change the world. "One Life at a Time"
